Chidzambwa Speaks Highly Of Takwara

LEGENDARY gaffer Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa believes FC Platinum defensive linkman Gerald “General” Takwara will make the grade in the South African Premiership.

ABSA Premiership side Ajax cape Town are desperate for Takwara’s signature having been charmed by the gritty central midfielder’s game during the COSAFA Cup held in South Africa in June.

According to The Herald, Ajax coach Stanley Menzo wants Takwara to start training with his team as soon as possible.

The 22-year-old Takwara agreed personal terms with the Urban Warriors who tabled an official bid for the link man that was rebuked by rebuked by FC Platinum who cited that the amount offered was too little for the player of Takwara’s caliber.

Now league champions FC Platinum risk losing the player for free as his contract expires on December 31 and Chidzambwa, who had called Takwara for the Cecafa Cup before Zimbabwe pulled out on Wednesday, has spoken highly of Takwara.

“He (Takwara) is a good player and chances are high he will definitely make the grade in South Africa,” said Chidzambwa who has previous stints in SA with Umtata Bush Bucks, Free State Stars and Black Leopards.

“After the COSAFA tournament a number of teams wanted to sign him but there was a bit of confusion with about four agents claiming to be representing him,” said Chidzambwa.
