Harare City v Border Strikers

It is very difficult to see how Border Strikers can beat Harare City at Rufaro on Friday in the Chibuku Super Cup. Harare City are out of the league race and they are not in danger of relegation. They will put all their energy to this tournament. Border Strikers, under Luke Masomere, have already beaten Harare City in the league but it is difficult to see them repeating that.

Ngezi Platinum v Hwange

This is a game that can go either way. Ngezi Platinum are coming from a win and their confidence may just be back. In Hwange they face a club that can get a result against any team on any day. The two teams have strikers that have been outstanding. Hwange will be banking Gift Mbweti while Ngezi will be counting on James Nguluve coming to the party.

FC Platinum v Chapungu

FC Platinum are already strained by the league title race and they could just fail to get into the groove against Chapungu. Chapungu are not really in danger of relegation and this is their chance for silverware. They could however find the going tough if FC Platinum come to the party at Mandava.

CAPS United v Tsholotsho

CAPS United, just like FC Platinum, are also preoccupied with the league race. They could try to rotate the players to keep some key players fresh for the league matches but that could be disastrous on their part. The last time they tried to give other players a chance in a cup game, they ended up losing the game.

ZPC Kariba v Bulawayo City

Bulawayo have already shown they are a side that can get a result on their day. However, it will be difficult for them to win against an inform ZPC Kariba. Sunday Chidzambwa’s side are still with an outside chance in the league race but this is a chance for them to win silverware.

Dynamos v How Mine

Dynamos have struggled in front of their fans this year and it is difficult to see them beating How Mine in 90 minutes. How Mine on the other hand are a side with quality and on their day, can get a result. Their greatest weakness however has been conceding early in the game and trying to fight back. Both teams are not really under any pressure in terms of the league commitment as they are virtually out of the race while they are safe from relegation.

Triangle v Chicken Inn

Triangle have been having an inconsistent run in the league but on their day, they can surprise any team. They face a Chicken Inn side failing to match the standards of last year. This is a game that can go either way.

Highlanders v Mutare City

Highlanders are on a roll and their clash with Mutare City could be one of the most entertaining matches in the Chibuku Super Cup. Their coach Erol Akbay has already admitted that Mutare City are tricky. Bosso failed to beat Mutare City in the two league matches, managing only a point.
