Chapungu Seek Triangle Revenge

CHAPUNGU coach John Nyikadzino says his team is itching for revenge against Triangle when the two sides clash at Ascot on Wednesday.

The Airforce side lost 0-1 in the reverse fixture at Gibbo two weeks ago with Courage Denias scoring for Triangle in the dying stages of the game.

Nyikadzino is relishing Wednesday’s encounter to atone for the heartache they suffered at Gibbo stadium.

“Conceding a goal with just two minutes before the end of the match was a bitter pill to swallow,” said Nyikadzino.

“Definitely we want revenge against them (Triangle) and give our fans something to cheer since we lost after dominating the match.”

Chapungu have a top eight target and Nyikadzino believes a win against Triangle will be a big boost.

“Our aim is to finish among the top eight clubs at the end of the season, so for us to achieve that we have to start picking up maximum points.

“This has to start with collecting three points against triangle,” he said.

The long serving mentor said he was pleased by new recruit Frank Bushiri’s performance in his debut match for the club in last Saturday’s goalless draw against Mutare City at Sakubva stadium.

Bushiri who has played for Shabanie Mine, Buffaloes and Chicken Inn was plucked from Central Soccer League side Midlands State University during the transfer window.

Another mid season acquisition Alick Marime is still chasing shadows and the Gweru based side will as usual look up to top goal scorer Allen Tavarwisa, winger Xolani Ncube and Jameson Mukombwe for victory.

Chapungu are fourth from bottom with 19 points, having managed only two wins at home this season against Hwange and Chicken Inn.
