Chapungu Out To Derail Bosso Title Chase
Chapungu have vowed to collect maximum points at home in the remaining matches to achieve their top eight target starting with the match against title chasing Highlanders at Ascot Stadium on Saturday.
Coach John Nyikadzino said his team is not really perturbed about who they are playing but are just eager to win their last home matches so that they finish among the top clubs.
“We are equally desperate for points just like any other team at the moment. While some other teams might have their own goals to achieve that is either the title or relegation, we are fighting for the top eight finish,” said Nyikadzino.
“If Highlanders think it’s going to be a stroll in the park, then they should be braced for a huge shock. We are not going to be mere pushovers actually we have been hard to beat at home against the so called big guns,” added Nyikadzino.
Last season Chapungu took four points away from Highlanders, winning 1-0 away at Barbourfields before drawing 1-1 at Ascot stadium.
Chapungu hold the aces in the title race as they will also host Caps United and FC Platinum who are in the title chase alongside Highlanders.
Caps United and FC Platinum have struggled at Ascot stadium in recent years with FC Platinum still to get a win in the Midlands capital.
