SENSATIONAL winger Blessing Sahondo and skipper Collen Kwaramba are tipped to walk away with accolades when Premiership outfit Chapungu host their awards ceremony in Gweru on Friday afternoon.

The function takes place at Sunset Gardens at 2PM.

Veteran utility player Philip Marufu could also be rewarded for his long service to the air force.

The annual event will see seven players and one supporter walking away with awards.

Chapungu FC Public relations Officer Tawanda Zowa confirmed the developments.

“We will have our annual awards ceremony tomorrow. Seven players are vying for the player of the year, players’ player of the year, golden boot, golden glove, most disciplined player and most improved player awards. One supporter will walk away with the supporter of the year award,” he said.  

Zowa said the aim of the award was to motivate and appreciate players.

“The awards are meant to encourage players to work hard and improve their performance. It’s also a way of showing appreciation to our players for a job well-done this season,” he said.
