Chafa Revels in 5th League Title
Devon Chafa marked a remarkable feat on Saturday when he collected his fifth league title of his career.
Chafa won the title four titles with Dynamos before helping Caps United win the 2016 Castle Larger League.
Chafa who was offloaded by Dynamos at the end of 2014 season, had miserable one year stay at How Mine which was blighted by injuries.
His arrival at CAPS United was not so rosy either as he was far down the order.
He was not registered for the first half of the season and his breakthrough only came during the second half of the season following the departure of Method Mwanjali to Tanzania and the dipping form of Archford Gutu that he began to play.
" I want to thank God for the wonders he did on my career. I was affected by injuries at How Mine and the start of this season was not good either. But I kept praying, believing and working hard that I will get my chance to shine once again," Chafa said.
" I very happy to win my fifth league title medal. I will forever cherish this medal as it comes on the backdrop of a difficult time for me after a lot of injuries. Also despite the financial challenges we managed to soldier on. It was team effort coupled by desire to fulfil personal ambitions which saw us pull through even the difficult financial problems.".
Chafa won four league titles with Dynamos from 2011-2015, alongside Thomas Magorimbo, Murape Murape and Tawanda Muparati.
Simba Nhivi who scored two crucial goals that saw CAPS United scrap through in their last two games on their way to coronation, also grabbed his fourth league title after three with Dynamos.
