Castle lager PSL resumes this weekend

The Castle lager PSL resumes this weekend with 6 mouth watering fixtures lined up after a one week break for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Zimbabwe and Malawi.

However, the other two fixtures, Highlanders - Border Strikers and Hwange- Chicken Inn have been postponed as some of their players are on national duty with the Warriors for the Cosafa Cup.

Log leaders, FC Platinum host ZPC Kariba at Mandava stadium on Saturday in what could be an explosive encounter. ZPC trail the Platinum miners by five points and would want to cover that gap and continue on a good run that saw them edge Hwange 1-0 in the last encounter. On the other hand, FC Platinum will be looking to consolidate their position on top of the standings and collect maximum points at home following a goalless draw against Howmine in their last game.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Tsholotsho date How Mine at White City in a Bulawayo derby while Dynamos travel to Chapungu despite missing three players who are on national duty. Peace Makaha is away with the Under 20 in Cameroon, Elisha Muroiwa and Tatenda Mukuruva are with the Warriors in Namibia for the COSAFA tournament.

Three more matches are on Sunday with Mutare City hosting fellow new boys Bulawayo City at Sakubva stadium in Mutare while third placed CAPS United play Triangle at the National Sports. Harare City are away to Ngezi Platinum at the Baobab in what will be Moses Chunga’s first game incharge of the Sunshine boys. Chunga was appointed as the new Harare City coach following the sacking of Taurai Mangwiro last week over poor results.

The former Buffaloes coach is relishing the challenge ahead of his first game in charge. “I’m ambitious that’s why I agreed to work with Harare City. It is my job and it is my life.”

The Sunshine boys will be missing three players, Farai Madhanhanga, Raphael manuvire and Blessing who are with the national team in Namibia but Chunga decided the game should go ahead. “We have got material that’s why we agreed when we have three players with the national team.”

Harare City are 10th on the log with nine points while Ngezi Platinum are a point behind in 11th place.
