Castle Lager PSL Mid-Season Break

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League action takes a mid-season break from Monday 18 July to Friday 29 July 2016. Matchday 16 round of matches will resume on Saturday 30 July 2016.

There will, however, be one PSL sanctioned match during this period. Highlanders and ZPC Kariba will clash in the ZNA Charities Shield final on Sunday the 24th of July 2016 at Barbourfields Stadium.

This break will also be an opportunity for clubs to acquire new players and offload those whom they deem to be excess baggage without pressure of fulfilling matches.

The PSL said, “All responsible authorities are advised to take this opportunity to spruce up and make necessary maintenance work on their stadia facilities”.

“We would like to thank our fans for their continued support. We hope that they come in their numbers as we head into the second half of the season which promises to be frenetic and exciting”, said the PSL in a press release.

Meanwhile Chicken Inn play FC Platinum on Wednesday at Luveve Stadium in a re-arranged league game. The game was supposed to have been played on June 18 but was postponed as Chicken Inn had three players with the National team in Namibia for the COSAFA tournament.

The Game Cocks are 7th on the log and a win will take them 20 points and fifth position above Dynamos as they have a better goal difference. A win for the Platinum miners will take them to the summit of the log as they are currently tied on 26 points with leaders Highlanders.
