Castle Lager Premiership Weeks 6 Goals' Round-up

Sunday

Dynamos . . . 0

FC Platinum. . . .1

FC Platinum’s unbeaten run continued, sending Dynamos to another low as they are now second from the bottom on the Premiership log standings.

Former Dynamos centre-back Gift Bello, took advantage of poor marking inside the box and headed in the only goal of the match from a corner kick swung into the box by Elvis Moyo after only 21 minutes.

This was all that’s separated the two sides leaving Dynamos second from the bottom on the log standings, but it was the rowdy behaviour by the Dynamos fans at the end of the game that stole the limelight – for wrong reasons.

Bulawayo City . . . 1

Chapungu . . . 1

Chapungu snatched a point at Barbourfields Stadium, denying Bulawayo City a chance into the top eight.

City surged ahead in the 54th minute through a penalty converted by captain Xolisani Moyo but the hosts’ lead only lasted 11 minutes as they were caught on a counter attack.

Morris Kadzola was brought down by Chapungu left-back Jameson Mukombwe leaving referee Allan Bhasvi no option but to point to the spot.

City were caught on a counter attack soon after Brighton Dube replaced Kadzola and Chapungu striker Phillip Marufu, tapped home.

Border Strikers. . .  0

Hwange . . .1

A 53rd minute strike by former Shabanie Mine defender Pervington Zimunya was all Hwange needed to collect maximum points.

Zimunya rose from the bench after had been introduced for injured Gilbert Zulu in the eight minutes before the break. It was Hwange’s first victory away from home this season.

Gift Mbwete won possession of the ball and sent a defence-splitting pass that Zimunya fully took advantage of by meeting it with a screamer that goalkeeper Future Sibanda only managed to retrieve from the back of the nets.
