Cash Rich Ngezi Platinum Stars To Raid Market

TONDERAI NDIRAYA will be given a strong kitty to beef up his squad as Ngezi Platinum Stars gun for the 2018 league title.

Speaking at the team's end of season awards ceremony held in Mhondoro on Tuesday night, club president Stanley Segula threw his weight behind Ndiraya who guided Madamburo to third position in the just ended season.

There had been growing speculation that the Ngezi executive had been frustrated by Ndiraya's failure to win the title given the resources he had at the Baobab.

Transfer rumours had linked Joey Antipas and Lloyd Mutasa with the job but on Tuesday night Segula revealed that Ndiraya would be given more money to invade the market in the off season.

"There is a feeling that 2018 will be the year of great things for this club. We want to consolidate our position as one of the Big Four teams and if the opportunity presents itself we will take it (the league title), “said Segula.

“He (Ndiraya) needs to invade the market and get the players he wants.”

That should mean another massive clear out at Ngezi with the likes of Kevin Bulaji, Washington Pakamisa and Dominic Mukandi likely to be among those to be released.

Those safe are the likes of Ngezi player of the year Qadr Amini, top scorer Terrence Dzukamanja, Godknows Murwira, Players player of the year Tichaona Mabvura and Xolani Moyo.

Former skipper Liberty Chakoroma has already joined FC Platinum.
