Caps United Target West African Strikers

Almost two decades after witnessing a gifted striker from Ghana called George Owusu, Caps United fans are bracing for another arrival of players from West Africa.

Owusu played for Makepekepe in 2001 after joining from rivals Dynamos.

And The Herald reported Wednesday that Caps United – who begin their CAF Champions’ League group phase campaign next weekend – are targeting two forwards from Ghana.

Another striker from Nigeria, Abasirim Chidiebere, is also expected at Caps United by the end of the week.

Makepekepe need to bolster their strike force ahead of crucial Champions League clashes against Zamalek of Egypt, USM Alger (Algeria) and Al Ahli of Libya.

United are in Group B.

The Zimbabwean champions have also registered veteran striker Leonard Tsipa for the continental club soccer showpiece.
