CAPS United Have Quality Players: USM Alger coach

USM Alger coach Paul Put had reservations over the state of Zimbabwe’s National Sports Stadium but still admitted Caps United are a good after his side lost 1-2 in a CAF Champions League Group B match on Wednesday.

Ronald Chitiyo struck a brace for the Zimbabwean champions.

“The state of the stadium was not that good but we can’t relay blame that, we were not in the game and Caps United have a lot of quality,” said Put after the defeat.

Makepekepe collected their first set of points after falling 0-2 away in Zamalek in the opening group game and coach Lloyd Chitembwe was ecstatic.

“It’s difficult to play in the Champions League and to get a point is an achievement. Obviously I expected this kind of performance.

“You can’t fault the boys anyhow, “ Chitembwe said.

Chitiyo struck either half, in brilliant fashion to put his name among the greatest ever players to don Caps United’s green and white strip.

Tafadzwa Rusike and Abbas Amidu missed clear cut chances in a game Caps United should have wrapped up in the first half
