Caps United Face Ngezi In Chibuku Cup

CAPS United chief executive officer Cuthbert Chitima believes there is nothing special about his team’s Chibuku Super Cup First Round match against holders Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Makepekepe were drawn against Ngezi in the 2017 Chibuku Super Cup first round.

“It’s a normal game, nothing special. Remember last year we were booted out by Tsholotsho so this is football, you never know,” said Chitima.

Resurgent Dynamos will host Bulawayo City while Highlanders have a date with Harare City in the first round.

DeMbare president Kenny Mubaiwa thinks it is a fair draw for his side.

“It’s a fair draw for Dynamos, we will see how it goes,” said Mubaiwa soon after the draw conducted in Borrowdale, Harare Wednesday afternoon.

The Chibuku Super Cup, which now has 18 teams following the expansion of the league this season, begins this weekend with the preliminary round.

The preliminary round sees Hwange hosting Yadah FC while Tsholotsho play Bantu Rovers.

The two winners will join the other 14 teams in the first round proper set to begin next weekend.

The eight seeded teams are Dynamos, FC Platinum, Chicken Inn, Black Rhinos, ZPC Kariba, Highlanders, How Mine and Ngezi Platinum and they will be the home teams in the first round.
