Zimbabwean champions Caps United played out a goalless draw against FC Lioli of Lesotho in a CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg encounter played at the Setsoto Stadium in Maseru on Saturday.

The match had its own drama as two Caps United players Joel Ngodzo and Kudzai Nyamupfukudza were barred from playing because of some anomalies on their documents.

Brian Abbas Amidu had the best chance for the visitors but he crashed his effort against the bar before Tafadzwa Rusike came on for Ronald Chitiyo in the 84th minute.

The return leg is at Harare’s National Sports Stadium next weekend.

Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup Ngezi Platinum Stars are in Mauritius where they play Pamplemousse on Sunday.
