CAPS United Board Dissolved

The CAPS United board was on Monday morning dissolved as the shareholder seeks to come up with a more competent one to steer the club into the 2017 Africanchampions league.

CAPS United who were crowned Zimbabwean champions on Saturday seek to emulate South African club Mamelodi Sundowns in having success in Africa.

"The whole idea is to strengthen our institution as we believe that the victory of Mamelodi Sundowns in Africa marks the dominance of the Cosafa region of the continent," said shareholders representative Lewis Uriri.

The new board which is due to be announced by club president Farai Jere will be seized with the task of making Caps United a dominant force in Africa next year.

"The position we are in demand certain competences from the board,  thus the dissolution to come up with a board that meets the demands of the vision of the club. The deadline for player registration is December 31 and the new board will look into that and other issues so that we have a strong squad. At the moment, Mr Cuthbert Chitima will run the affairs of Caps United in line with our vision until a new board is announced,"added Uriri.

The previous CAPS United board included Lewis Uriri who was chairman, Nhamo Tutisani - board member responsible for operations while Abraham Kawadza was board member responsible for supporters in the Northern Region with Alec Munyaka assigned to represent supporters in the Southern Region and Modecai Sachikwenya was board member responsible for technical affairs. 

Willard Manyengavana, Cuthbert Chitima, Desmund Ali and Alois Bunjira who was in charge of marketing but resigned this year were part of the board as well.
