CAPS LOOK AHEAD

CAPS United skipper Hardlife Zvirekwi believes their participation in the CAF Champions League was a learning curve.

Makepekepe were knocked out after suffering a 4-1 defeat to USM Alger in their last group B match at the July 5 Stadium.

“It has been fantastic,” said Zvirekwi.

“It was a learning curve for us as individuals and as a team. We learnt a lot technically, tactically and I think we will go back and start all over again and use what we learnt in our home league and hope to come back to the Champions League again,” he added.

Makepekepe finished bottom of Group B with six points in the bag while USM Alger qualified to the quarterfinals as group winners.

The Algerians had 11 points and will meet Mozambique’s Ferroviario da Beira in the quarterfinals.

Libyan said Al Ahli Tripoli finished second with nine points following the 2-2 draw at five-time Africa champions Zamalek. They proceeded at the expense of the Egyptians.
