CAPS GET BOSSO REVENGE

CAPS United surged into second place behind leaders FC Platinum, Dominic Chungwa putting the hosts into the lead after 58 minutes for a 1-0 win over Highlanders at the National Spot Stadium on Sunday.

Just a minute after Chungwa’s strike, Devon Chafa’s penalty kick was saves by as he failed o double CAPS’ lead in a game the Green Machine dominated.

CAPS united assistant coach Mark Mathe, however, feels they could have won by a bigger margin but poor decision making cost them more goals.

“Our decision was poor, we did not control the game the way we wanted. The passing in the final area needs improvement, but I am happy for the win,” said Mathe.

However, it was a different story for Highlander’s coach Erol Akbay.

He feels the defeat was because of the fact that they were missing a number of their top players but gave credit to goalie Ariel Sibanda who was brilliant between the posts as he also saved a 59th minute Chafa penalty.

“We were missing out style of football, we are missing too many players. We have not been soring of late and that shows that we are missing power and foresight.

“We had chances to score but we failed to. They (CAPS United) had two three chances to score and they got one.  We had a very good ‘keeper today who is good at (saving) penalties and I am very happy for his performance.” Said Akbay.

Just two weeks ago on the road, CAPS lost by the same scoreline and it seems Sunday was their revenge day.
