Caps Find Chungwa's Replacement, DeMbare In A Dilemma

THE offseason has shifted into a higher gear as Premier Soccer League teams are beginning to tie up deals ahead of the 2018 Castle Lager Premiership.

2016 champions Caps United believe they have found Dominic Chungwa’s replacement in former FC Platinum forward Brain Muzondiwa who has signed a two-year contract with Makepekepe.

Caps United are rebuilding after losing a host of players last season who include Chungwa, Ronald Chitiyo, Abbas Amidu, Ronald Pfumbidzai, Dennis Dauda, Tafadzwa Rusike and Edmore Sibanda.

Devon Chafa and Moses Muchenje are in Egypt for trials.

Makapekepe could however welcome back steady defender Dauda who is believed to be pushing for a move from Yadah FC.

The lanky defender still has a one and half year contract with Walter Magaya’s team which paid $20 000 for his service last July.

Lloyd Chitembwe is also eyeing a reunion with experienced utility player Method Mwanjali who had a stint at Makepekepe before moving to Tanzania

What’s next for Chinyama?

Veteran striker Takesure Chinyama seems to be on his way out of FC Platinum although club spokesperson Chido Chizondo claims that it’s too early to talk about Chinyama’s exit.

Chinyama was brought to Zvishavane by Norman Mapeza but failed to make a mark, in fact he was a big flop as injuries kept him out of action.

Dynamos in a dilemma?

Yes, DeMbare have to pay out Denver Mukamba’s last six months if they are to offload the truant midfielder.

Mukamba still has six months on his contract with Dynamos who are set to offload him alongside the likes of Carlos Rusere, Musa Madhiri and King Nasama.

The consistent Tichaona Chipunza is insisting on a $7 000 per season signing on fee with Ngezi Platinum Stars keeping a close eye.

Ngezi coach Tonderai Ndiraya is an admirer of Chipunza’s industriousness.

Ngezi have offered Godknows Murwira, Walter Mukanga, Tichaona Mabvura and Qadr Amini improved deals.

It also looks like Liberty Chakoroma will remain a Ngezi player in 2018 after the former Young Warriors opted to stay in Mhondoro.

He had been included in FC Platinum’s Caf Champions League squad but Ngezi will have Chakoroma for the 2018 season.
