CAPS United will fight half of their CAF Champions league battles in North Africa, in what will be a tough challenge for the Zimbabwe champions.
They face Zamalek, Al Ahli Tripoli and USM Alger in group B – three trips to Egypt, Libya and Algeria respectively.
This is according to the draw conducted on Wednesday.
CAPS United were in pot 4 of the draw and therefore could not meet other clubs in the same pot like Zanaco, St George and Ferroviaro Beira.
The Zimbabwe champions shocked TP Mazembe in the last knock out stage and are underdogs in the group stages.
Going into the draw, they could not face teams who were in the same pot with them.
Makepekepe avoided other big guns like defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly as they could only get one team from each pot.
Lloyd Chitembwe’s charges  open their campaign with a date against Zamalek.
