CAPS Dump TP Mazembe Out Of CAF Champions League
CAPS United are in the knock-out stage of the CAF Champions league after dumping out TP Mazembe at National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
They played a goalless draw, a week after they had held the former African champions 1-1 away.
Defender Dennis Dauda said it was important for them to qualify after the hard work.
“It means a lot to us as players. We have made history for CAPS united and we have managed to make sure that we beat TP Mazembe who have a proud record in Africa.
“We were very basic in our approach. They are very tricky in the way they were attacking but we managed to make sure that we kept them at bay,” said Dauda.
Goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda was the hero again after denying the DRC giants what could have changed the situation.
“It is a dream come true for us. I have tried my best and I’m happy I happy I have been rewarded. Keeping a clean sheet is very much important for any goalkeeper and defence. It is becoming the norm now that I should be on top of my game. We will go to the next stage and give it our best,” said Sibanda.
