Cameroon Coach Praises Zim

Cameroon coach Enow Ngachu sang praises for eliminated Zimbabwe, who, he believes have a great future in African women's football.

The coach believes the turning point for the Mighty Warriors was a surprising defeat to Egypt in the Africa Women Cup of Nations finals here.

Addressing a press conference, after the exit of the Mighty Warriors in Group A where Egypt was also booted out, Ngwach said a lot was expected from  Zimbabwe in this tournament.

Cameroon and South Africa have progressed to the last four.

While Group B with Nigeria and Ghana on four points, Mali three points and Kenya without a point, will be concluded on Saturday night.

"Zimbabwe has a very good squad,  honestly,  they have a good squad.

"And, it is true that during Nations Cup there are usually surprises.

"l never  expected Egypt,  to beat Zimbabwe. It happened,"he said.

The lndomnitable Lioness gaffer believes , Shadreck Mlauzi and his team never recovered from that dissapointing defeat to the North Africans, which was also shrouded in controvesy after a goal which could have been Zimbabwean equaliser was disallowed.

"So,  l think the our game was more physicological. I  believe that Zimbabwe  didn't believe in their qualities because they could have their day today (against Cameroon), probably, they were thinking that we are already eliminated.

"I don't know what went wrong, they could have also scored some goals. They are a good side and the Zimbabwe team is a future team.

"We still think that , they are among the best in Africa," he added.

Ngachu, basking in glory as the only team to grab all the nine points en-route to the semi finals said the 2-0 victory against Mighty Warriors was not a grudge match.

"It wasn't a match of revenge, actually.

The Olympics Games are over. Zimbabwe made their victory then because they defeated Cameroon. "Today, we carried the day probably, because we played more than Zimbabwe," he said.

Mighty Warriors finished the group on the bottom with a point they got against South Africa.

Our neighbours, who had a slow start recovered in time to beat Egypt 1-0  in the last match and advance with four points.
