Bulawayo City Get Sponsorship From Inter Africa Buses

CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League side, Bulawayo City got a timely sponsorship boost from Mukumba Brothers, trading as Inter Africa Buses.

Amakhosi were presented with a playing kit, 61 jackets, 31 pairs of sports shoes, a bag and five match balls by Inter Africa director Leonard Mukumba and his son Shelton who runs the bus company's business in Bulawayo. The presentation was made at the Tower Block on Wednesday ahead of Bulawayo City’s midweek fixture against FC Platinum in Zvishavane.

Mukumba said he decided to assist Bulawayo City after he was approached by the club’s chief protocol officer Edmore Chivero who is a personal friend. He made it clear that they chose to assist the club because they approached the company as they believe that they should answer when someone comes knocking on their doors.

I was approached by my friend Chivero concerning sponsorship and I told him that no problem I am very much interested because what is very important is to be together with the community. As the director of Mukumba Brothers, trading as Inter Africa, we helped Bulawayo City the reason is they knocked the door, if anyone knocks the door, the door should be opened,’’ Mukumba said.

Prior to making the presentation, Inter Africa had also covered the accommodation expenses of $1 616 for Bulawayo City when they travelled to Harare for a league clash against Dynamos which ended 4-3 in favour of DeMbare. The total sponsorship package for this season will come up to $10 000.

Wednesday’s presentation was attended by Bulawayo City chairman Jerry Sibanda, his deputy Zenzo Moyo, secretary general Horace Ndubiwa, Chivero as well as some of the club’s board members.
