
Buffaloes Maintain Grip
BUFFALOES continued with their good form when they defeated army side Mukanya Bullets at Chikondoma on Saturday.
Watungwa Watungwa are now on 30 points and maintain a four-point lead over Mutare City Rovers who had three points deducted for using an unregistered player.
Eastern Region chairman Davidson Muchena said they will make sure that teams which are behind should fulfill their fixtures on the weekend of August 5 and 6.
“Midseason is by the corner as we play game number 15 this weekend.
“All teams with outstanding games will do battle to catch up.
“We will begin the final battle with all teams sitting on 15 games and those which are behind should play catch up on the weekend of August 5 and 6.
“Our extra ordinary general meeting will be on August 5 at Chevron Hotel in Masvingo and we would like to have an improved second round.
“We are currently working out something and hopefully everything will go according to plan as we have asked the senior members of the Referees Association in our region to grace this occasion.
“We will engage each other in our efforts to have a level playing field as we reach the final and critical phase of the promotion race,” said Muchena.
