HARARE City defensive linkman Tendai Samanja is pushing hard to earn a first team jersey ahead of the clash against his former employers Caps United at the National Sports on Sunday.

Samanja did not start when City drew 0-0 against newly promoted Yadah FC last Saturday and the dreadlocked midfielder is itching to play against Makepekepe.

He believes his club has got what it takes stop defending champions at Makepekepe.

“I personally want to play against Caps United on Sunday,” declared Samanja after Thursday’s workout at Gwanzura.

“They (Caps United) are last season’s champions not this season, this is a different year altogether,” said Samanja.

New Harare City coach Mike “Micky Dread” Madzivanyika is however likely to partner Farai Madhanaga and James Jam in central midfield.
