BREAKING: Sables Africa Cup Squad Named

Sables coach Cyprian “Supa” Mandenge has named a 40-man squad for the Africa Cup game against Kenya but the rugby side is highly likely not to have any preparatory games leaving the gaffer a disadvantaged man.

Kenya have received an invite to go and play Brazil in Brazil, Namibia are in Uruguay but Zimbabwe are yet to get their preps underway with training sessions only meant for Mondays (conditioning) and Wednesday (field training).

“That makes me feel unfortunate, but as they say “what does not kill you only makes you stronger” so these challenges can only make us stronger and hopefully someday some team will come to our rescue.

“We do not have the money to travel or host another team meaning we have to wait for a team wanting to fund us or taking care of their own expenses traveling to Zimbabwe.

“We need to get as m any games we possible so that our world rankings look good. I have been hoping that we get at least a game before we play Kenya but the usual story if lack of adequate resources has hit us as well.

“I hope that we get an end of season tour like we did last year and at the moment the ZRU is running around. It is every
