Brace For Another Embarrassment: Bosso Warned

Mutare City coach Taku Shariwa is itching for another giant slaying act after being paired against Highlanders in the first round of the Chibuku Super Cup draw conducted in Harare on Monday.

Mutare City who are fighting relegation got four points off Highlanders in the league as they drew 0-0 at Sakubva stadium and embarrassed the Bulawayo giants 2-1 at home in the reverse fixture at Barbourfields stadium.

An excited Shariwa welcomed the draw against Highlanders saying pressure will be on the Bulawayo giants as they will be itching for revenge.

“It’s a good draw for us because we were prepared for any other team but getting Highlanders was exciting for us. Pressure is on them already because they would want to avoid another embarrassment of which we are going to give them,” said Shariwa.

“We are now fighting on two fronts, firstly to avoid relegation and secondly to end the season with something in our trophy cabinet. So we are not being intimidated going into this tournament but if you look at our performance in the second half of the season we are playing purposefully,” he added.

Mutare City have been on the ascendency in the second half of the season where they have been slowly accumulating points in a bid to survive the cop.

The first round of matches will be played on the weekend of 16-18 September.
