Bosso Wants Chibuku For 90th Anniversary

Highlanders will be looking to add the Chibuku Super Cup to spice their 90th anniversary celebrations when they take on How Mine in a quarter final match at Barbourfields stadium on Sunday.

Highlanders will also be motivated by revenge after they were knocked out of the same tournament by How Mine on penalties last year.

Club secretary coach Emmet Ndlovu whose executive has seen new coach Erol Akbay break the hurdles which blocked Highlanders in the past said they want to celebrate the anniversary in style by winning the Chibuku Super Cup.

“ It's not going to be easy because it's going to be a derby but the truth is we want to celebrate our 90 years of existence in style.  the good thing is we are not moving out of Bulawayo and we will play in front of our supporters. I urge the supporters to come out in large number and give motivation to the players," said Ndlovu.

How Mine on the other hand are looking at the Chibuku Super Cup as a redemption for their failure to fight for the league title this year.

“We are out of the running for the league title so the Chibuku Super Cup provides with the only chance to end the season with something in our cabinet. also we would want to play in Africa next year, so this tournament provides us with that ticket," said Kaindu.

" We might have lost twice to Highlanders this year, but in football, every game is a new game and we go into this match with an equal chance to win it just like Highlanders."
