Bosso To “Preserve” Muduhwa For Platinum Clash
Highlanders could rest their star defender Peter Muduhwa for Saturdays’ clash against Tsholotsho at Barbourfields stadium as they want to preserve him for the crucial tie against FC Platinum away to Mandava stadium on week 29.
Muduhwa who has been one of the star players at Bosso this season leading from the back, accumulated his second yellow card against Bulawayo City in their last league match and the technical team is worried the player might get another yellow card that can make rule him out of the trip to Mandava.
Bosso coach Erol Akbay told SportsZone that nothing has been decided yet but it might be a possibility that Muduhwa could be rested during the Tsholotsho.
“Nothing has been decided yet, as we are still discussing as the technical bench, although we are all agreed that it’s a tricky situation for us and indeed him. We might or might not rest him on Saturday,” said Highlanders coach Akbay.
Muduhwa had a subdued game against Ngezi Platinum Stars in the Chibuku Super Cup final in which he handled inside the box . The spot kick was converted by Ngezi Platinum Stars captain Liberty Chakoroma.
With Highlanders taking on FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane after this weekend’s clash, there are genuine fears that it might be risky to field Muduhwa against Tsholotsho on Saturday.
Bosso have able replacements for Muduhwa as Mudzingwa could drop from the anchorman’s role to partner Tendai Ndlovu in central defence while the experienced Felix Chindungwe, who has been displaced by Muduhwa, could also be assigned to central defence.
Meanwhile, three players are suspended for this weekend’s Premiership games, as the clock winds down for the 2016 season.
Veteran Hwange striker Gilbert Zulu, Triangle United’s Hardlife Mavundi and Zibusiso Sibanda of Bulawayo City will all miss their teams’ matches for accumulating three yellow cards.
Hwange are on the road to Mhondoro for a clash against Ngezi Platinum Stars on Saturday, while Triangle United welcome relegated Border Strikers to Gibbo Stadium on Sunday and Bulawayo City play host to ZPC Kariba at Barbourfields Stadium on the same day.
