Bosso To Change Tactics
HIGHLANDERS coach Erol Akbay says they had to go for broke against Dynamos in the last stages of the match to get an equaliser.
The Dutchman says the approach will be different when they face ZPC at Barbourfields on Sunday.
Bosso literally camped in the DeMbare half in the Independence Trophy final and they were rewarded with a goal at the death to force the game into penalties.
DeMbare eventually won 3-2 on penalties.
But that approach at the closing stages of the match nearly cost Bosso as DeMbare managed two counter attacks that could have changed the match.
“At that stage we had nothing to lose. And if you don’t attack with the whole team when you need a goal, you don’t score any. We were rewarded with a goal but the situations change every time,” said Akbay.
“It was unfortunate we lost on penalties. The pressure for the players was too much. Now we have to focus on the next game.
Bosso have some of the most attack minded players in the Premiership.
It is expected that the likes of Prince Dube, Rodreck Mutuma, Simon Munawa and Allen Gahadzikwa will resume from where they left, asking all sort of questions to Sunday Chidzambwa’s side.
“ZPC Kariba are a very good team and we have to play good football to win the game. They are a club with experience and we have a lot of respect for them,” said the Bosso coach.
ZPC Kariba used to be a difficult side for Bosso before Akbay’s arrival last season.
However the Dutch coach says they cannot count on history as they go into the showdown.
Highlanders have won one match so far and lost another in the two matches they have played.
ZPC Kariba on the other hand have also won one and lost another. Both teams have not played the third game after being affected by the Independence Trophy.
