Bosso Ready For Chibuku Draw

Highlanders coach Erol Akbay says his side is comfortable facing any opponent in the last eight of the Chibuku Super Cup which takes place this weekend.

Bosso will know their quarterfinal rivals when the draw is conducted on Tuesday morning in Gweru. According to the draw procedure, there will be no seeded teams. Teams shall be paired by drawing of lots and the first four teams to be picked will play at home.

Highlanders beat Mutare City 2-1 at Barbourfields and are still hopeful of a league and cup double following a promising run in the Castle Lager Premiership race.

“If we are given FC Platinum or any other team, so be it. We won’t have much of a choice but to win that match. Anything can happen in football. It’s possible for us to finish the season on a double,” said Akbay.

Log leaders FC Platinum will also be hoping to maintain their quest for league and cup double. FC Platinum started brightly by dismissing Chapungu 2-0 at Mandava.

The Chibuku Super Cup quarterfinals will be played this weekend while the same finals have been penciled for the weekend of October 21-23.

The final match takes place on November 5. Winners of the tournament will pocket US$75 000 and grab the ticket to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup next year.
