Bosso Disappoints Once Again

Highlanders’ miserable showing in the second half of the season continued with a 1-0 loss to ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga stadium on Saturday.

Highlanders’ last victory was on July 17 when they beat Caps United 1-0 at Barbourfields stadium courtesy of an Adrian Silla strike but have gone on a miserable run in which they have accumulated only one point in the last in the second half of the season.

Bosso’s Dutch coach Erol Akbay summed the disappointment by blaming his strikers.

“We are not playing well these days. This is not our normal type of play. We are building well from the back but we are lacking the killer punch upfront. The strikers are not scoring and we end up losing,” said Akbay.

Veteran striker Limited Chikafa struck with nine minutes to fulltime to give ZPC Kariba a crucial victory which moved them to fourth position, just a point behind Highlanders who are on 32 points.

Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa was elated with the victory but felt his charges could have scored more goals.

“It’s a crucial victory for us after last week’s victory against Chapungu. But I feel that we could have won by a wider margin considering the chances we created. The victory is still crucial because its three points for us,” said Chidzambwa.
