Bosso Complete Double Over Dembare
Highlanders scored twice in as many minutes to complete a memorable double over old foes Dynamos with a 2-1 victory to brighten their chances of winning the championship while CAPS United closed the gap on log leaders with a victory over Chicken Inn.
Highlanders, who last completed a double over Dynamos in 2006, the same year they last won the league title, showed their intent from the first whistle putting their opponents under siege.
Goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva kept his side in the game with a number of crucial saves with Highlanders threatening to run riot in the first twenty minutes.
However it was Dynamos who got the breakthrough first, Masimba Mambare poking home from close range on the 28th minute.
A Wisdom Mutasa free kick was headed down by Obey Mwerahari and Mambare beat Ariel Sibanda from six yards.
Highlanders were gifted with an opportunity that heralded their comeback when Dynamos captain Stephen Alimenda needlessly gave away a corner kick which defender Tendai Ndlovu headed in fifteen minutes from time.
Veteran striker Ralph Matema gave Bosso the lead two minutes later connecting a beautiful cross from the impressive Peter Muduhwa.
Muduhwa who was impressive at the heart of Bosso defence went on a run on the right before spotting Matema with a lofting cross.
The match was without drama as referee Nkosana Nduna showed some frailties in the second half when he showed a yellow card to Dominic Mukandi instead of Marshal Machazane who was already sitting on a yellow card.
Minutes later Nduna saved Machazane the blushes once again when he was hesitant to show the defender a second yellow card having brought it out but later put it back in his pocket after the Dynamos player had brought down Rahman Kutsanzira on the left flank.
Machazane feigned injury allowing his technical department to take him off for Roderick Mutuma.
