Bosso Acquitted…But Fined For Missile Throwing

The Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee has found Highlanders not guilty of causing the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium.

The match was abandoned with a minute of time added on left to play with the Highlanders fans reacting by throwing missiles after Petros Mhari had converted a late FC Platinum penalty to draw level as Bosso were leading 1-0. Police threw teargas resulting in the match being abandoned.

Highlanders were however found guilty of throwing missiles which they were fined $2,000, $500 of which has been suspended for the rest of the season on condition they do not commit the same offence.

The fine together with the costs of the hearing are payable by 31 July 2017.

The official match result is a 1-1 draw.

The disciplinary action comes on top of a $4,000 fine for the abandonment of another match earlier in the seasons against Dynamos.
