Billiat Jets In

WARRIORS star Khama Billiat has joined camp and linked up with his teammates ahead of Sunday’s international friendly against Tanzania at the National Sports.

The senior national team is fine tuning for the 2017 Afcon finals.

Coach Kallisto Pasuwa had initially indicated he wanted to rest the Mamelodi Sundowns winger who recently won the CAF Champions League with his club before making an about turn and included him in his 23 man squad.

“He is in the country now and has already joined camp,” said team manager Sharif Mussa Friday afternoon.

“Everyone else is now here except the guys who were excused due to injuries,” said Mussa.

Billiat however, could not make it in time for the Friday morning training session at the National Sports but was expected to train with the rest of the squad in the afternoon.

Former Highlanders utility player, Bruce Kangwa – now with Azam FC of Tanzania, has also joined camp and should give Pasuwa a second option at left back where Supersport United’s Onismor Bhasera looks to be the favourite.

Billiat and Kangwa’s arrival means that of the 23 men in Pasuwa’s squad only the injured trio of Czech based star defender Costa Nhamoinesu, Maritzburg United’s Evans Rusike and Blessing Moyo are out of the tie.
