Billiat Is A Genius Says Kuffour

Celebrated former Black Stars of Ghana defender Samuel Kuffour was full of praise for Warriors midfielder Khama Billat after he played a blinder of a game in Zimbabwe’s 2-2 draw against Algeria in the opening game of group B at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon on Sunday night.

Speaking on Supersport during the post-match analysis of the Algeria Zimbabwe game, the former Bayern Munich hard man said he last saw raw talent like Billiat a long time ago.

“It’s very difficult to describe such a player because he’s got everything, even though the likes of maybe Ronaldo will take the headed part of the game, maybe the height advantage into the game. But he has everything.

“So it tells me that maybe the likes of Okocha, likes of maybe Samuel Eto’or whoever Abedi Pele, John Boye comes around but this guy (Billiat) can be another level if he really want it,” said Kuffou.

Billiat who was named runner up to Footballer of the year based in Africa at the CAF awards held in Nigeria has been linked with a number of European clubs lately and Kuffour, who represented European giants Bayern for over a decade winning a total of 16 major titles said Billiat deserves to play in Europe.

“I think he has to move into Europe, it will be very disappointing for the Africa continent not to see him play here but in terms of his career, where he is at and the way he is just going at 26 years, I think he really needs to move into Europe.

“For me he is a little genius”, added Kuffour.

Billiat was one of the outstanding players as Zimbabwe Warriors lived up to expectation when they produced a stellar performance to restrict Algeria to a 2-2 draw.
