Billiat Arrives For ZIFA Medical Assessment

INJURED Warriors forward Khama Billiat arrived at the national team training base at Yadah complex just before 4pm on Wednesday in the company of Zimbabwean football legend Peter Ndlovu who is also his team manager at South African side Mamelodi Sundowns.

Billiat immediately left for scans with the Warriors team doctor and Ndlovu.

The talented Billiat is out of the Liberia tie with an ankle injury that has sidelined him for several weeks, with his last appearance coming in Sundowns’ Absa Premiership clash against Maritzburg United last month, on May 17.

Former Warriors captain, Peter Ndlovu was in the eye of a storm on Monday amid reports that he was blocking Billiat from travelling to Harare Liberia game had a chat with Warriors coach Norman Mapeza before meeting Walter Magaya who is hosting the Warriors at his complex in Waterfalls.

There were concerns that his club Sundowns wanted to block the star player from featuring for the Warriors hence ZIFA’s insistence that Billiat report to national team camp despite the player still nursing an injury.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the player will be fit enough to represent his country or if he will return to the Chloorkop-based club and continue treatment.
