Bhasera, Nkatha In Big Win

Kingston Nkatha and Onisimo Bhasera got the better of Evans Rusike and Blessing Moyo as SuperSport United romped to a 4-1 win over Maritzburg United in an ABSA Premiership match played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday night.

Nkatha scored a lovely acrobatic goal while Bhasera was a constant menace on the left channel for SuperSport who moved to third on the log standings after the match.

Maritzburg, who introduced Warriors forward Rusike as a second half substitute with Moyo playing the entire 90 minutes, netted the only goal of the first stanza through the boot of Kurt Lentjies.

A quick-fire brace from Mandla Masango had SuperSport ahead before Nkhatha and Jeremy Brockie made the result safe.

Lentjies was denied at the near post early into proceedings but Pieterse could do nothing about the Maritzburg talisman's 15th minute effort.

A poor clearance from Bhasera saw Lentjies pick up the ball on the edge of the area and he uncorked an absolute belter that flew into the top corner.

Going behind seemed to jar SuperSport awake and they had a chance not long afterwards as Brockie struck the crossbar and the rebound was put into the side netting by Mnyamane after he had taken an unecessary touch.

Nkatha fired Bhasera's low cross wide of the upright as Matsatsantsa continued to push for an equaliser but the home side had to go into the break trailing.

On the other side of the interval SuperSport played like a team possessed and levelled matters in the 51st minute through Masango as he converted from close range after combination play between Letsholonyane and Nkhatha.

The same trio were involved two minutes later as Masango pounced on Nkhatha's cross to put his side ahead for the first time in the match.

Nkhatha went from provider to scorer as he netted acrobatically from a lovely assist from Mnyamane.

The same player provided the service shortly afterwards as he fired in a low cross that Nkhatha cleverly let through his legs to allow Brockie to finish comfortably and cap off a 12 minute spell in which four goals were scored.

The result sees SuperSport United move into third position on the log standings.
