Barbourfields No Longer A Highlanders Fortress: Mangwiro
Harare City coach Taurai Mangwiro feels there is nothingspecial about Highlanders playing at Barbourfields anymore and his side iscapable of come out with a positive result against the Bulawayo giants onSunday.
Coming at the back of a 1-0 loss at the hands of bogey sideTsholotsho, Mangwiro says there is all the need to recover as his side has notbeen consistent.
Mangwiro, who says he draws inspiration from FC Platinumcoach Norman Mapeza seemingly sis feeling the heat but want his boys to provethey are able to bounce back from defeat.
“Barbourfields is no longer the old fortress it used to beand a number of teams have managed to come out with wins from Highlanders thelikes of (FC) Platinum and we can be able to do the same.
“They are coming from a 4-1 win over Ngezi, we would like toapplaud them for the way they have started the season. We will go there(Barbourfields) not in a scary mood but we feel this is one game where as acoach I don’t need to do much (motivation) to get the players ready. They knowwhat is at stake.
“Over the past we have had some dark days againstHighlanders and last year when we went there they needed a very late controversialpenalty to rescue a point from us,” said Mangwiro.
With two wins, two draws and the same number of defeats sofar, Mangwiro is not happy with the way his side played last week but hebelieves life will get back on track.
“I draw inspiration from Mapeza because last year this timehe was just at the same stage and same situation with me and look how he endedthe season and where he is now.
“He lost in Africa (in the African Safari), just like us andeveryone was calling for the dismissal of the coach but what happened at theend of the year. When I look at my team I don’t believe we are a bad team, wecan go on to surpass even the target that was set for us”
