Bale Unfazed By Pogba Price

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale says he is unaffected by the fact he is no longer the most expensive player in the world after Paul Pogba joined Manchester United.

Bale held the title for three seasons after Los Blancos paid Tottenham Hotspur £85.3 million for his services in 2013, but United went beyond that figure to sign Pogba last month, spending £93.3 million to prise him away from Juventus.

However, the pacey Welsh forward claims he isn't bothered by losing that particular title.

"I'm not fussed and I couldn't care less. None of the players have pulled my leg on it," he told reporters.

Bale added that he would like to win the Champions League again and become the first Welshman to lift Europe's most coveted club trophy three times.

There are four players from Wales who have won the Champions League on two separate occasions, including Bale, Ian Rush Joey Jones and Ryan Giggs.

If the former Spurs player could help Los Blancos win it this season, it would be all the more special for him with the final being hosted at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, but admitted it's always a tough competition to win.

"That would be nice. I obviously have a better chance than them as I'm still playing," he added. "We know the final is in Cardiff and it would be amazing to get there."

"My aim is to win as many trophies as I can and as many Champions Leagues as I can. That will be the aim again this year.

"Everybody wants to beat Real Madrid, but we know we have a chance to make history again and we will be trying our best to do that.

"It is difficult winning the Champions League and not many people get to say they've won it.

"No matter what goes on in the transfer market you have to have a great season to win the Champions League," he concluded.
