Antipas's Amazulu Turns Corner

AmaZulu coach Joey Antipas is pleased that the side's confidence has returned after a string of positive results that sees their promotion push back on track.

Usuthu thumped Milano United 6-1 on Sunday to propel themselves to fourth, just outside the promotion play-off places but Antipas admits it wasn't all smooth sailing.

“In the first half we struggled a bit because we employed the long ball which was just being carried by the wind. Also we were bypassing key players who can make things happen for us,” the Zimbabwean tactitian is reported as saying on the club's official website.

“In second half we adjusted our game and started to play the ball to feet, moving the ball around and circulating the ball. The good thing is that we finished with aplomb, I’m just happy we managed to get an advantageous result.”

With the National First Division on hiatus until next year Antipas was hopeful that the second half of the season would yield more positive results.

“One thing for sure is that it gives us confidence in going forward because you never know what can happen. We just have to now look forward to the second round and go out there and fight,” he stated.
