Amidu Spoils CAPS United Players With Lunch As A Parting Gift

Brian Abbas Amidu took the entire CAPS United team for lunch on Monday afternoon, as a parting gift before leaving for Egypt where he is set to join Smouha FC.

The CAPS United forward is expected to leave this week to finalise his contract with the Egyptian side.

In a short speech he gave after treating his teammates at a Harare hotel, Amidu said he owes his big move to the support he got from the whole team.

“It not an individual success that I am leaving for Egypt but for CAPS United and the rest of Zimbabwe and Ndaendawo Zvakanaka,” said the speedy forward.

“Its nice kutengwawo and I believe it gives everyone that hope, someone’s success can be a motivation to everyone, so I wish each and every CAPS United player’s wish to will be fulfilled hence I did this small parting gesture to all my teammates.”

The CAPS United turned down a US$1 million deal from five-time African champions Zamalek to settle for modest Egyptian side Smouha where he believes he will get game time.

Smouha failed to progress beyond the group stage of the second-tier CAF Confederation Cup this season.

Amidu, who has previously featured for South African sides Kaizer Chiefs and Black Leopards, joined CAPS United last year after a stint at United Arab Emirates Division One side Masafi SC.
