Algeria Assessing Injured Brahimi

THE Warriors’ first opponents at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, Algeria, are assessing the injured duo of FC Porto attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi and defender Ramy Bensebaimi.

Algeria arrived in Franceville on Thursday evening and were due to hold their first training session in Gabon Friday.

Coach Georges Leekens told the Algerian press that his men were going to rest yester night before resuming their preparations today.

“We are going to rest tonight (Thursday) and we will resume training tomorrow (Friday),” said Leekens on arrival after a six and half hour flight.

Leekens expects the duo of Brahimi and Bensebaimi to recover in time for the Warriors match.

“I think they should train naturally, but we still expect to get a better appreciation of their respective conditions this Friday (today),” he said.
