Advantage Bosso, CAPS United...As FC Platinum Falter

FC Platinum faltered against Harare City losing 2-1 to give Highlanders and Caps United the chance to close in as the title chase goes to the wire.

Caps United have a perfect chance to claim the lead with four games to go if they manage to beat tricky Border Strikers at Dulivhadzimu stadium on Sunday.

But the biggest beneficiaries of FC Platinum’s slump were Highlanders who moved into second position thanks to a last minute strike from Prince Dube to beat Chapungu 1-0 away at Ascot stadium.

On an afternoon they needed to consolidate their lead at the top, FC Platinum found themselves trailing City by a goal in the 14th minute when a deflective Tatenda Tumba shot off Grey Kufandada beat Petros Mhari.

Things got even worse for Platinum when they were reduced to ten men three minutes later when defensive midfielder Gerald Takwara was shown a straight red card by referee Philani Ncube for a wild lunge on Tumba.

Platinum were never really in the match and the expulsion of Takwara created a hole in the midfield which City capitalised, creating a lot of chances.

William Manondo doubled the lead midway in the second with a well worked goal after nice build-ups from the Harare City half.

Tineyi Chitora scored the solitary goal as ZPC Kariba beat Triangle 1-0 while Ngezi Platinum came from behind to draw 1-1 against Tsholotsho at home.  How Mine were held at home by Mutare City
