2016 Copa Winners Head Challenges PSL Clubs
Whitney Mabika, head of Rujeko High School 2016 Copa Coca-Cola boys champions, has challenged Premier League clubs to scout for talent at her school.
“The players at my school are talented despite our school having missed the cup several times ending as runners up.
“We were the powerhouse of Mashonaland Central but now we are the powerhouse of Zimbabwe."
Mabika said her school was striving to remove the mentality that those who excel in sport are not gifted academically adding that divine favour was on her side.
"We are just a rural school which was favoured by God.
"I managed to beat all the men in Zimbabwe who are heading secondary institutions. Its rather fun to see a woman excelling in soccer.
“We are proud of Copa Coca –Cola and everyone in Mashonaland Central is proud of the Copa Coca-Cola cup that was won (by) the boys."
Mabika said she is confident some of the boys will represent the nation in bigger tournaments in the future.
"We will continue developing soccer at grassroots level and we hope that one day our boys will mature and do the nation proud by winning the Afcon or even the World cup,” said Mabika.
